Changes to the dissemination of imagery obtained by JMA MTSAT-1R geostationary meteorological satellite. JMA will terminate HiRID and WEFAX broadcast services on 12 March 2008. Note that after 0230 UTC on this date the only direct broadcast services available will be HRIT and LRIT, in accordance with the new timetable available from JMA website: http://mscweb.kishou.go.jp/operation/opr_plan.htm Since 23 January 2008, JMA has been providing reduced-size imagery files in JPEG format for National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) through its existing Internet FTP server, to ensure easier access to MTSAT-1R imagery by users with limited connectivity. In addition to the provision of HRIT imagery through the server, JMA is providing JPEG imagery files covering full disk and nine regions in one visible and three infrared channels.
